Notification of processing of personal data

Port of Antwerp-Bruges (hereinafter "POAB", "we" or "us") places great importance on the protection of personal data. Personal data is any information about an identified or identifiable natural person (hereinafter "data subject", "you" or "your"). Your personal data will always be protected by us in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of April 27, 2016, of the European Parliament and the Council on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation or "GDPR"), including any applicable current or future national or international legislation implementing or replacing the GDPR (hereinafter collectively "Applicable Privacy Legislation").

 

This notice regarding the processing of your personal data (hereinafter "privacy statement") has been prepared to clearly inform you about the processing of your personal data and your rights as a data subject. Please read this document thoroughly and contact us with any questions via the contact details in title 9 below.

1. Application of this Statement

This privacy statement applies to the processing of personal data of the following categories of data subjects:

  • Inland shipping entrepreneurs who declare via the form to be the owner of a vessel
  • Third parties in whose name invoices for port dues are issued
  • Inland shippers who deposit their waste in the waste parks of POAB
  • Garbage collectors
  • Drinking water distributors

2. Responsible for Processing

2.1 The responsible party for this processing is POAB.

- Ship data (FD number, ENI number, MMSI number, current and previous name of the ship, type, flag, year of construction, tonnage, length, width, measurement certificate number, IMO number, TEU)

For water bunkering:

Agreement

Reporting waste collection (for waste collectors on the Antwerp platform)

For water bunkering:

The data subject is required to provide personal data to calculate port dues and payments within the framework of the cost recovery system. If the data subject does not provide personal data, they cannot use drinking water bunkering.

4. Source of Personal Data

POAB processes personal data originating from the owners of the vessels. The owner sends us either their own data or data about the third-party payer. POAB does not have other sources of personal data.

5. Categories of Recipients

Upon explicit request, personal data is passed on to government services, such as the City Port Service, maritime police, Flemish Waterway, OVAM.

6. International Transfer

Your personal data is not transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA). If you wish to receive more information or a copy of these guarantees, please contact us at the following email address: dpo@portofantwerpbruges.com.

7. Retention Period

POAB will retain your personal data as long as necessary to achieve the purposes mentioned in article 3. Afterwards, the personal data will be deleted/anonymized.

8. Your rights as a Data Subject

In accordance with the Applicable Privacy Legislation, you can exercise the following rights (if and to the extent applicable):

  • You can request access to and obtain a copy of all personal data we have processed about you;
  • You can also request that your personal data that is incorrect or incomplete be corrected or supplemented;
  • You can request the deletion of your personal data;
  • You can object to the processing of your personal data, ask us to limit the processing of your personal data, or request the portability of your personal data.

 

You can exercise these rights by sending an email to dpo@portofantwerpbruges.com. We will handle your request in accordance with the Applicable Privacy Legislation.
