Rail operator Hupac is further expanding its network to Spain with a new shuttle service between the Combinant Terminal in the Antwerp port area and the La Boella Terminal in Tarragona, Spain. The connection, in partnership with Lineas, began on 10 March and offers five round trips per week.
Both Antwerp and Tarragona trains depart daily, Monday through Friday. The shuttle service allows the transportation of hazardous goods (ADR/RID) in addition to intermodal units (containers, trailers, etc.). The new rail connection will save approximately 2.1 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per transported road unit.
Parallel to the new shuttle between Antwerp and Tarragona, Hupac is also launching a new domestic rail connection between the El Morrot Terminal in Barcelona and the La Boella Terminal in Tarragona. This service also runs five times a week in both directions between Monday and Friday. Our port thereby provides a convenient and fast route for goods destined for the north-east coast of Spain.
