When is a provisional inspection certificate issued?

As of 1 September 2024, a provisional inspection certificate will only be issued by the inspection body in one situation. This is the case when the vehicle does comply with all administrative and technical regulations but has not yet been registered with the DIV. The inspection body will then, and only in this case, issue a provisional inspection certificate that is valid for 30 calendar days, a period within which the vehicle must be registered with the DIV.
